*** Presentation slides now online ***

We are very pleased to announce that our first guest speaker of 2010 will be world expert on form design, Caroline Jarrett.

WHEN: February 11th, 14h00

WHERE: M203 (the function room next to Murrays restaurant, where the HSF meetings take place), Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton

Caroline is co-author of the book “Forms that Work“, with Gerry Gaffney, and is director of usability and form design consultancy, Effortmark Ltd.

Experience and expertise

In Spring 2009, she was in Cambridge to give a great talk on “Label placement in forms“, on behalf of the Cambridge branch of the Usability Professionals Association. As well as coming to the EBI this year, Caroline will also be running a form design workshop at the UX Lisbon conference, and appearing at a number of other UX design and usability events.

The format for the one-hour talk will probably be that Caroline talks for about 20 minutes, and then there will be lots of time for questions & answers from the audience. We are delighted to welcome her here, and hope you will all come armed with lots of questions about designing usable forms.

“The humble form: it may seem boring, but most of your website’s value passes through forms. Follow Jarrett & Gaffney’s guidelines, and you’ll probably double your online profits.”
